HSC results likely to be published on 16 October
Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee will finalise 16 October as the date and send the proposal to the Ministry of Education
This year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results are likely to be published on 16 October.
The decision was taken at a joint meeting of the chairmen of the 11 education boards today (9 October), meeting sources said.
It was decided that the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee will finalise 16 October as the date and send the proposal to the Ministry of Education.
If approved, the results will be published on that day, according to the meeting resolution.
Requesting anonymity, chairman of one of the education boards said that results must be published by 18 October under existing rules.
"But since 17 and 18 October fall on weekly holidays (Friday and Saturday), the decision was made to publish the results by 16 October," he said.
This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on 26 June and ended on 19 August. As per regulations, results must be published within 60 days of the completion of written exams.
A total of 12,51,111 students registered under 11 education boards to sit for the examinations. Of them, 6,18,015 were male and 6,33,096 female, and about 27,000 did not appear.
