Education ministry served legal notice over not holding HSC examinations

An examinee of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations has sent a legal notice to the education ministry and other concerned authorities to reconsider the decision of not holding HSC examinations this year.
Supreme Court Lawyer Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan sent the notice on behalf of Shotabdi Roy, a student of Mofajjal-Momena Chakladar Mohila College in Savar, on Thursday.
Apart from the education ministry, secondary and higher secondary education secretary, director general of the Directorate General of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and chairmen of nine education boards have been made respondents to the notice.

If the demands made in the notice are not fulfilled within the next three days, a writ petition will be filed at the High Court, says the notice.
Many students who have prepared well for the HSC examinations will be deprived of getting the opportunity of achieving good results if the results of the HSC examinees are prepared based on their JSC and SSC results, says the student in the notice.
Determining the results of the HSC examinations as per the previous examinations' results is illegal, the notice mentions.
At a virtual press conference on Wednesday, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the decision of not holding the HSC examinations this year.
