The National Physics Olympiad will be held on February 28-29 at Dhaka University, added the release.

The winners of the national Olympiad will be able to attend the International Physics Olympiad in Lithuania.

Absar Khan Siam and Nabila Zaman were the winners of the Dhaka south regional round.

Speaking on the occasion, Md Sabur Khan said, "Students of our country cannot think of anything beyond banking, administrative and BCS jobs, as they lack competencies in core subjects of science."

"If we can make them interested about basic science from their childhood, they can build careers in science as scientists or researchers all around the world," he added.

"Physics Olympiad is playing a vital role to explore the merits of the students from the very beginning of their student lives," Sabur Khan further added.
