EC moving forward with polls preparations, committed to ensuring level playing field: CEC
“The EC will act as a referee in the election. Those who want to play will play, and those who win will win. Our responsibility is to ensure a fair field – and we are determined to do so,” says AMM Nasir Uddin

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin today (15 June) said the Election Commission (EC) is steadily moving ahead with preparations for the upcoming national elections, and reaffirmed the commission's commitment to ensuring a level playing field for all parties.
"The EC will act as a referee in the election. Those who want to play will play, and those who win will win. Our responsibility is to ensure a fair field – and we are determined to do so," said the CEC while addressing an exchange meeting with EC officials at the commission headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.
He also instructed EC officials to carry out their duties with utmost neutrality and fairness.
The meeting, held after Eid-ul-Adha holidays, was attended by the four election commissioners, the EC secretary, and other senior officials.
"We have already completed many tasks, and the rest will be done together. Today's meeting is not just a formality after Eid – let this be our collective pledge to gift the nation a free, fair, and acceptable election," said the CEC.
He said world leaders, including those in London and Japan, are being informed that the Election Commission aims to deliver a historic election for the nation.
These commitments on the global stage are being made because there is trust in us, he added.
Addressing the EC officials, the CEC said, "During Ramadan, you promised to perform your duties with integrity. Today, I ask you again – let this be our renewed pledge to work impartially, without allegiance to any party, to uphold the law and justice."
While acknowledging past criticisms of previous commissions, the CEC expressed his confidence that the current commission would perform its responsibilities with integrity and transparency.
