DU to preserve July Uprising graffiti, restoration work begins 26 July
The university has invited artists who painted the original graffiti after the July Uprising to take part in the restoration programme.
Dhaka University (DU) has decided to begin the restoration and repainting of July Uprising graffiti across its campus as part of an initiative to preserve the artworks and their historical significance.
The restoration work will begin on 26 July, according to a press release issued by the university's Public Relations Office today (22 July).
According to the release, the initiative will be formally inaugurated with the restoration of graffiti along the stretch from the Vice-Chancellor's residence to Ruqayyah Hall.

To coordinate the programme, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the university proctor and the director of the Arbory Culture Centre have been assigned responsibility.
The university has invited artists who created the original graffiti following the July Uprising to participate in the restoration work.
Interested artists and amateur painters have been requested to register their names and addresses via WhatsApp at 01716116023 by 25 July to take part in the programme.
