Dhaka North Councillor Mizan denied bail

A Dhaka court today rejected bail plea of Dhaka North City Corporation Councillor Habibur Rahman Mizan in a money laundering case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain denied him bail when he was produced before the court after completion of remand.
In regard of plea for division in the jail for Mizan, the court asked jail authorities to take step according to the jail code.

On October 11, Rapid Action Battalion seized several cheques worth around Tk6.77 crores, fixed deposit receipts worth Tk1 crore and Tk2 lakh in cash from Mizan's flat in the capital's Mohammadpur.
He was placed on police remand afterwards.
