Ctg to honour July uprising with music, drone show
The drone show, arranged by the Chattogram District Administration, will visually narrate the story of the July uprising through aerial calligraphy and symbolic formations

A thousand drones will light up the skies over Chattogram as part of a special programme titled 'Songs of July and Drone Show', organised to commemorate the historic mass uprising of July.
The event is set to take place this evening (16 July) at the Chattogram District Stadium in Kazir Dewri.
The drone show, arranged by the Chattogram District Administration, will visually narrate the story of the July uprising through aerial calligraphy and symbolic formations.
Details of the programme were shared during a coordination meeting held at the Circuit House last night (15 July). Mustafa Sarwar Farooki, Cultural Affairs adviser, attended the meeting as chief guest.
"This is not just a memorial event, it is a revival of our national consciousness," Farooki said.
"The heroism of July will be depicted through the drone display. I invite people from all walks of life in Chattogram to join the event tomorrow. It will illustrate how far Bangladesh has come through the sacrifices of its student movement and the general public," he added.
Authorities expect over a hundred thousand spectators to attend the event. To ensure public safety, extensive security measures have been put in place with support from the CMP and other law enforcement agencies.
In addition to the drone show, the district administration has organised a series of month-long programmes, including a symbolic marathon, tree plantation drives, a graffiti competition on '2024 July Uprising', cultural events remembering martyred children through songs, poems and paintings, a 'Mothers of July' assembly, 'July Heroes' award ceremony, film screenings, and the broadcast of a special video message from the chief adviser.
