A woman was harassed and physically assaulted allegedly by a shoe store owner and unknown individuals near the sidewalk in Dhaka's Mirpur 10 after an argument over the purchase of shoes.
A video of the incident has been circulating on social media since yesterday (24 March).
When contacted, Mirpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sazzad Ruman told The Business Standard that they are trying to contact the woman seen in the video. "However, no one has filed a complaint yet."
"The incident seems to have arisen from an argument over the purchase of shoes. Despite this, we have yet to identify any of the attackers seen in the video," he added.
OC Ruman assured that necessary legal action would be taken if the victim comes forward with a complaint.
The video that circulating on Facebook shows the woman being harassed, slapped and struck by the store owner, as well as unknown individuals involved in the attack.
