Man goes on the run after killing wife, sister-in-law in Brahmanbaria

A man allegedly killed his wife and sister-in-law and went into hiding at Kasba Upazila in Brahmanbaria early today (3 March).
The murders took place at the sisters' house in Dhajnagar village under Gopinathpur Union in the upazila, according to police and locals.
The deceased have been identified as Smriti Aktar and Tithi Aktar, daughters of Raushon Ali.
The suspect, Smriti's husband Amir Hossain, allegedly smothered the two sisters on their bed with something and fled in the early hours, said police and locals.
The district's Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Md Obaidur Rahman said they were trying to arrest Amir.
"We have yet to learn about his motive behind the murders. We have started investigating," he said.
Quoting locals, police said Smriti and Amir have been having marital disputes for a while.
After recovering the bodies, police sent them to the local hospital morgue for autopsies.
