Man killed, child injured in indiscriminate firing in Ctg
Police said the victim Raju, a resident of Raozan upazila, had come to visit his sister’s house when he came under attack and died on the spot after being shot.
A man was killed and an 11-year-old child injured in indiscriminate firing by unidentified assailants in the Roufabad Colony area of Chattogram.
The incident took place around 9:30pm yesterday (7 May) in the Shaheed Minar Lane area of Roufabad Colony under Bayezid Bostami Police Station.
Confirming the incident, Bayezid Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdul Karim said, "The shooting took place over supremacy-related disputes. Police are conducting drives to arrest those involved. The mystery behind the incident will be uncovered very soon."
Police said the victim Raju, a resident of Raozan upazila, had come to visit his sister's house when he came under attack and died on the spot after being shot.
Meanwhile, the injured child was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital around 11pm.
Doctors provided her with primary treatment before admitting her to Ward No 28.
The injured child's elder brother Faisal Ahmed said several assailants suddenly opened fire in the area while she was going to a shop.
"She was hit in the eye by a bullet and was later taken to CMCH in critical condition," he said.
