Thana Officer In-Charge Nibaron Chandra Barman said Ashraful beat up his mother on Saturday following a dispute over inheritance of land.

A man was killed by his elder brother over land dispute in Rajshahi.

The deceased is Ashraful Khondaker, 40.

Quoting locals, Boalia Thana Officer In-Charge Nibaron Chandra Barman said Ashraful beat up his mother on Saturday following a dispute over inheritance of land.

Infuriated over the incident, elder brother Nure Alam hit Ashraful with an iron rod, leaving him critically injured.

He later died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Monday morning. His body has been handed over to family after post-mortem, the OC added.

Ashraful's daughter Jannati Anika has filed a case in this regard and police have arrested Nure Alam today.
