Muradnagar triple murder: Court grants 3-day remand for 8 accused

A Cumilla court has granted a three-day remand for eight individuals arrested over the killing of a woman and her two children in Karaibari village of Cumilla's Muradnagar upazila.
Cumilla Judicial Magistrate Court-11 Judge Mominul Haque passed the order today (9 July), following a hearing on a remand petition submitted by police on 7 July.
The development was confirmed by Court Police Inspector Md Sadequl Rahman.

Sub-Inspector Nayan Kumar Chakraborty, the case's investigating officer, expressed hope that the interrogation would shed light on the motive, expose those involved in planning the attack, and lead to the arrest of additional suspects.
The case, originally under the jurisdiction of Bangra Police Station and handled by SI Abu Taher, was transferred to Cumilla District Detective Branch (DB) on 7 July owing to its gravity.
The killings took place on the morning of 3 July, when Rokhsana Begum (53), her son Russel Mia (35), and daughter Taspiya Akhter (29) were fatally attacked. Another daughter, Ruma Akhter (27), was critically injured.
