Machete-wielding mugger who walked past police at Dhanmondi 32 identified
"The suspect has been identified. Efforts are underway to arrest him," Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kyashanu Marma says

Police have identified the mugger who walked past on-duty traffic police carrying a machete in the capital's Dhanmondi 32 area on Thursday night (17 July).
"The suspect has been identified. Efforts are underway to arrest him. Hopefully, we will be able to share good news soon," Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kyashanu Marma told The Business Standard today (19 July).
A video related to the incident went viral on social media on Friday.
The footage, shared in the Facebook group "Traffic Alert," shows a man, carrying machete in his hand, forcefully snatching a bag from a pedestrian before walking away undisturbed, even as two traffic policemen stand nearby.
Eyewitness Rakib Hossain, who recorded the video, told TBS that the incident occurred near the Dhanmondi 32 lake area.
"I was stuck in traffic for a while and noticed that the muggers were working in a team. They pretended to clash among themselves, creating confusion, and then targeted passersby. When someone tried to intervene, they [muggers] attacked and robbed him," he recalled.
