CID begins investigation into white stone looting in Sylhet
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started an investigation into the looting of stones from Bholaganj Sada Pathor tourist spot in Sylhet's Companiganj upazila.
The Financial Crime Unit of the CID started the investigation following receipt of complaints of looting against 50 influential people and various reports published in different newspapers.
CID Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Jasim Uddin Khan confirmed the matter in a statement today (26 August).

Appropriate legal action will be taken against all individuals and organised crime groups involved in the looting with the intention of financial benefit, reads the statement.
