BGB seizes Tk12cr worth of goods smuggled from India thru Sylhet border

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Tk12 crore worth of goods illegally brought from India during a raid in the Gowainghat border area of Sylhet.
This is the largest consignment of smuggled goods ever seized at the Sylhet border in recent times, BGB Sylhet Sector Commander Colonel Saiful Islam Chowdhury said during a press briefing this evening (12 March).
On Wednesday morning, the 48th Battalion, under the BGB Sylhet Sector, conducted raids at various places along the Pratappur border in Gowainghat upazila and seized these goods, said Colonel Saiful.
The seized goods include a huge amount of sarees, cosmetics, cumin, malta, etc.
"The goods have an estimated market value of Tk12 crore," he said.
