2 SUST students expelled for violating female student
Those expelled were identified as Shanto Tara Adnan and Swagata Das Partha
The authorities at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have expelled two students for their alleged involvement in violating a female student of the university.
Those expelled were identified as Shanto Tara Adnan and Swagata Das Partha - both 3rd year students of Social Science Department of the university.
The university authorities took the decision at a syndicate meeting on Tuesday, said Syndicate member and vice-chancellor of the university Dr Md Sajedul Karim.

The syndicate took the punitive action against them as evidence of rape was found against them.
On 2 May, Partha and Shanto reportedly raped a girl after taking her to a mess.
On 19 June, she submitted a written complaint against them. A case was filed against five people.
Police arrested the two students and they were put on a 4-day remand.
