Inspector AKM Moin Uddin, the operations officer of Banani Police Station and the investigating officer of the case, confirmed the arrest this morning (9 May).

"This incident centres around two female students. We managed to arrest Faria Haque last night, and efforts are underway to arrest the other female suspect," he said.

On 21 April, police arrested three accused for their alleged involvement with the killing.

On 19 April, the 23-year-old Parvez, a student of the 223rd batch of Textile Engineering Department of the university, was stabbed to death following a dispute with some students of the English Department on the university campus.

Later, a case was filed at Banani police station, naming eight students of the university and 20 to 25 unnamed others
