A Dhaka court today (10 April) issued a travel ban on former lawmaker of Noakhali-6 constituency Mohammad Ali, his wife Ayesha Ferdous and daughter Sumiya Ali Ishita over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The petition stated that there are allegations of acquiring assets of crores of taka through corruption against the accused.

It is imperative to issue an order prohibiting the three accused from traveling abroad until the investigation into the case is completed in the interest of a fair investigation, the petition mentioned.
