The investigation report in the case was submitted on 31 July

The prosecution of the International Crimes Tribunal has formally filed charges against former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Habibur Rahman and four other police personnel in a crimes against humanity case filed over the shooting of a student in an under-construction building during last year's mass uprising in Dhaka's Rampura.
The charge-sheet was submitted to the tribunal's registrar today (7 August).
Four others named in the case are— former additional deputy commissioner of DMP Zone Khilgaon, Md Rashedul Islam; former officer-in-charge of Rampura police station Moshuir Rahman; and former assistant sub-inspector of the police station Chanchal Chandra Sarker.
The investigation report in the case was submitted on 31 July.
On 19 July last year, 18-year-old Amir Hossain, a hotel worker in Aftabnagar, was on his way home from work in the afternoon when he came across a protest near Meradia Bazar.
As police and BGB personnel advanced toward the demonstrators from both ends of the street, Amir panicked. In an attempt to escape, he ran into a nearby under-construction building and made his way upstairs toward the rooftop. The police chased after him.
At one point, he was clinging onto a rod to save his life. But, ASI Chanchal Chandra Sarker shot him when they spotted him, the document says.
Later, he was rescued with serious injuries and treated at the hospital.
