Navana Group vice-chair secures bail hours after arrest in labour case

A Dhaka labour court today (24 June) granted bail to four accused, including Navana Group Vice-Chairman Sajedul Islam, in a case filed under the Labour Act.

Sajedul was produced in court after his arrest by Tejgaon Industrial Area police.
Lawyers for the accused sought bail, while three other accused in the same case also filed separate bail petitions.
Following the hearing, the court granted bail to all four accused.
According to the case statement, the First Labour Court of Dhaka had issued arrest warrants for the accused in the Labour Act case over the alleged non-payment of nearly Tk23 lakh in dues to a former official of Aftab Automobiles.
Earlier in the day, Tejgaon Industrial Area police arrested Sajedul and produced him in court.
