Khilgaon murder: Accused Abdullah confesses to killing Joj Miah
Abdullah told the court that he and others stabbed Joj Miah to death following a previous dispute.
A man arrested in a case over the murder of Joj Miah, 45, in the capital's Khilgaon area has given a confessional statement before a Dhaka court.
The accused, Mohammad Abdullah, 33, was produced before the court today (11 September).
After Abdullah voluntarily agreed to give a confessional statement, the investigating officer, Khilgaon Police Station SI Mohammad Ershad Ali, applied to have it recorded.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Siddiq Azad recorded the statement and subsequently ordered that Abdullah be sent to jail, said Marufuzzaman, an SI of the prosecution department.
According to the application, Joj Miah was called to a garage in Badda late on 9 September as part of a planned attack stemming from a previous dispute.
Abdullah and the other accused allegedly attacked him repeatedly with sharp knives, killing him. They then allegedly transported his body in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and dumped it in the Jirani canal beneath Trimohoni Bridge in Khilgaon before fleeing, the application said.
Abdullah expressed remorse for his alleged involvement and voluntarily agreed to give a confessional statement, according to the application.
Police arrested Abdullah from Bazar Goli in Badda last night (10 September).
According to the case statement, Joj Miah went missing after leaving his home in Rampura on 8 September.
The following morning, police recovered his body from the Jirani canal beneath the Trimohoni Bisshwa Road Overbridge in Khilgaon as an unidentified body.
His wife, Rozina, 38, later identified the body at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
The victim had multiple sharp-weapon injuries on the left side of his chest, back and abdomen, according to the case statement.
Rozina later filed a murder case with Khilgaon Police Station.
