HC grants Zubaida Rahman bail until disposal of her appeal against conviction
Zubaida Rahman was sentenced to three years in prison on 2 August 2023 over concealing information in her wealth statement and aiding her husband

The High Court has granted bail to Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, in a graft case until the disposal of her appeal challenging a three-year prison sentence.
The HC bench of Justice Md Khairuzzaman passed the order today (14 May), suspending her sentence and a Tk35 lakh fine imposed on her.
Senior lawyers SM Shahjahan, Mahbub Uddin Khokon, and Barrister Kaiser Kamal appeared on behalf of Zubaida during the hearing.
Zubaida Rahman was sentenced to three years in prison on 2 August 2023 in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over concealing information in her wealth statement and aiding her husband, Tarique Rahman, in accumulating wealth through illegal means.
