A Dhaka court today (1 October)  showed former Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi arrested in a case lodged over the killing of Hasan  Mahmud, president of Dhaka South city unit of Jatiyatabadi Sarak Paribahan Shramik Dal and a journalist as well.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam passed the order as police produced Gazi before the court and pleaded to show him arrested in the case lodged with capital's Khilgaon Police Station. The court then sent the former minister back to jail.

Hasan Mahmud's widow, Fatema, filed the case on 29 August against 35, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
