SSC 2026: Pass rate falls to 62.25%, GPA-5 holders drop to 1,16,676
The average pass rate in this year's SSC examinations under the nine general education boards fell to 64.05%, down from 68.04% last year, reflecting a decline of 3.99 percentage points.
The average pass rate across 11 education boards in the 2026 SSC and equivalent examinations has dropped to 62.25%, compared to last year's 66.33%, reflecting a decline of 4.08 percentage points.
The results of the SSC examinations were published at around 10am today (10 August) at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education. Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon inaugurated the publication of the results.
This year, the pass rate under the nine general education boards was 64.05%, compared with 68.04% last year. The pass rate among the general boards therefore declined by 3.99 percentage points.

A total of 1,16,676 students – 1,06,009 from the nine general education boards – secured GPA-5 across the 11 education boards this year, compared to last year's 1,39,032 GPA-5 achievers in total.
The Technical Education Board recorded a pass rate of 58.20%, with 3,951 students securing GPA-5.
Meanwhile, the Madrasah Education Board posted a pass rate of 55.49%. Altogether, 6,716 students obtained GPA-5 from this board.
Meanwhile, 312 educational institutions recorded a zero pass rate this year, meaning none of their students passed the examinations. Of these, 57 institutions were under the nine general education boards, 226 under the madrasah board and 29 under the technical board.
Among the overseas examination centres, one centre recorded a zero pass rate, with none of its candidates passing.
Under the general education boards, 1,07,982 more female students than male students passed the examinations this year.
Similarly, 11,401 more female students than male students secured GPA-5.
