Dismissed DGFI official Manjil remanded again in July Uprising killing case
According to the case statement, businessman Abdul Wadud was shot dead in front of Gate 1 of New Market in Dhaka at around 5pm on 19 July 2024.
A Dhaka court today (13 April) placed dismissed Major Manjil Haider Chowdhury, a former official of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), on a fresh three-day remand in a murder case over the killing of businessman Abdul Wadud during the July Uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam passed the order after a hearing, state prosecutor Jamal Uddin Marjin confirmed.
Police arrested Manjil on 9 April from the DOHS area in Mohakhali.

On 10 April, the same court placed him on a four-day remand in the case.
According to the case statement, businessman Abdul Wadud was shot dead in front of Gate 1 of New Market in Dhaka at around 5pm on 19 July 2024.
The brother-in-law of the deceased, Abdur Rahman, filed a murder case against 130 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
