Crimes against humanity charges against Hanif, 3 others over Kushtia killings during July uprising accepted

The International Crimes Tribunal has accepted crime against humanity charges Mahbubul Alam Hanif, joint general secretary of the Awami League, and three others in a case over the killing of seven people in Kushtia during the July Uprising.
The tribunal today (6 October) issued the order for their arrest and appearance before the court on 14 October.
After the hearing, the tribunal took cognisance of the charges and issued arrest warrants against the accused.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim represented the prosecution during the hearing, along with prosecutors Mizanul Islam, Moinul Karim, and Shahidul Islam.
Yesterday (5 October), the prosecution submitted formal charges against Hanif and three others, bringing three specific allegations, including incitement, conspiracy, and the killing of seven people in Kushtia.
The other accused are Kushtia District Awami League President Sadar Uddin Khan, General Secretary Azgar Ali, and City Awami League General Secretary Ataur Rahman Ata. All four are currently absconding.
