Court orders seizure of 2 flats of former PWD engineer Zahida Akter
The petition states that Zahida Akter acquired assets disproportionate to her lawful income.
A court has ordered the seizure of two flats belonging to former Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Public Works Department, Zahida Akter, in Mohammadpur, measuring 1,485 and 1,328 square feet.
The directive to seize the flats, valued at Tk 1 crore, was issued on Wednesday (14 January) by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz following an ACC application.
The ACC filed the application seeking the seizure, represented by Deputy Director Sharika Islam.
The petition states that Zahida Akter acquired assets disproportionate to her lawful income.
It alleges that she bought an apartment in Malaysia under the "Malaysia My Second Home" scheme and also purchased several flats in Dhaka.
The ACC is in the process of collecting her bank and property intelligence reports from Malaysia.
