According to court sources, the Rapid Action Battilion-2 detained Abdul Hannan on 13 December, a day after Hadi was shot, on suspicion of being linked to the motorcycle used in the crime.
He was later handed over to Paltan Model Police Station. On 14 December, Hannan was shown arrested under Section 54 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and placed on a three-day remand.
During remand, investigators confronted him with a motorcycle showroom owner and collected information from the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority regarding two vehicles registered in his name.
