7 put on remand, one sent to jail over banned Awami League procession in Tejgaon
According to the case statement, around noon on 5 September, activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliates brought out a sudden procession in front of Rahim Metal Mosque in Tejgaon.

A Dhaka court has placed seven people on a four-day remand each in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over a sudden procession by the banned Awami League and its affiliated organisations in the capital's Tejgaon area. Another accused in the same case was sent to jail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Monirul Islam passed the order today (6 September) after a hearing, said public prosecutor Rezaul Haque.
Those remanded are Ziaur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Abdur Rahman, Fayem Talukdar, Md Firoz Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, and Omar Faruk. The other accused, Ridwan Rafi, was sent to jail after the court rejected the police's remand plea.
Earlier, Sub-Inspector Md Abu Isa of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station produced the accused before the court, seeking a seven-day remand for each.
Defence lawyers sought bail and cancellation of the remand application, while the prosecution opposed. After hearing both sides, the court passed the order.

They allegedly chanted anti-state and anti-government slogans, inciting terrorism.
The eight were arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police during the procession.
Police later filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station.
