The Awami League (AL) government's 10 former ministers, two advisers, a retired Appellate Division Justice, and a former home secretary will be produced before the International Crimes Tribunal tomorrow (18 November) in a case of genocide and crimes against humanity during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said Prosecutor Abdullah Al Noman said today (17 November).

Those who will be produced in the court are Anisul Haque, Faruk Khan, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Towfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Dipu Moni, Salman F Rahman, Dr Abdur Razzaq, Shajahan Khan, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Golam Dastagir Gazi, Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, and ex-home secretary Jahangir Alam.

On 17 October, arrest warrants were issued in two separate cases against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and others in the allegations of genocide and crimes against humanity during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

The three-member International Crimes Tribunal, chaired by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, issued the orders. The other members are Justice Md Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.

The tribunal directed the accused to be produced before the court by November 18, the next hearing date. Accordingly, the arrested are being brought to the court.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam represented the state in the proceedings.
