11 accused in lawyer Alif murder case shown arrested in explosives case
Chattogram's Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate, SM Alauddin Mahmud, issued the order following a plea by the case's investigating officer today

Eleven accused arrested in the murder case of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif have been shown arrested in another case filed under the Explosives Act.
The case was lodged by the victim's brother, Khan Alam.
Chattogram's Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate, SM Alauddin Mahmud, issued the order following a plea by the case's investigating officer today (15 April).
The 11 accused are: Premnandan Das Bujha,
19, Ronob Das, 24, Bidhan Das, 29, Bikash Das, 24, Rumit Das, 30, Raj Kapoor, 55, Samir Das, 25, Shib Kumar Das, 23, Om Das, 26, Ajay Das, 30, and Debicharan, 36."Eleven accused named in the murder case of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif were brought to court under tight security today. The investigating officer sought their arrest in a separate case under the Explosives Act, which the court approved," said Assistant Public Prosecutor Advocate Raihanul Wazed Chowdhury of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court.
On 25 November last year, the detective branch (DB) of police Chinmoy Brahmachari, arrested Iskcon leader and spokesperson of the United Sanatani Jagaran Jote, from Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka while he was returning to Chattogram.
The next day (26 November), he was handed over to Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP). When he was produced in court in a sedition case filed at Kotwali Police Station, the court denied him bail.
Later, as he was taken to jail in a prison van, Chinmoy's followers blocked the vehicle and protested for nearly three hours.
At one point, police and BGB used batons and sound grenades to disperse the crowd.
During this time, clashes broke out between law enforcement and Chinmoy Krishna's followers.
The accused attacked lawyers and litigants, vandalising 20-30 vehicles.
Lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was stabbed and beaten to death in an alley near Rongam Cinema Hall opposite the court entrance.
Alif's brother Khan Alam filed another case under the Explosives Act at Kotwali Police Station, naming 116 people for vandalising vehicles and attacking the public.
Additionally, his father filed a murder case at the same police station, naming 31 individuals.
Police filed three cases over the clashes, vandalism, and obstruction of police duties in the court area.
