ACC sues ex-Dhaka South CEO, 5 others over Tk25cr revenue evasion
An ACC probe revealed that this caused a loss of Tk25.13 crore in government revenue

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against six individuals, including former Dhaka South City Corporation chief executive officer and former additional secretary Khan Mohammad Bilal, over allegations of irregularities and corruption in LED billboard installation that caused revenue evasion of Tk25.13 crore.
ACC Deputy Director Md Akhtarul Islam confirmed the matter to the media at the commission's headquarters today (16 September).
The other five accused in the case are: DSCC's dismissed deputy chief revenue officer Md Yusuf Ali Sardar; TCL Optoelectronics Ltd Managing Director Md Akhtar Hamid Khan; Best One owner Mosammat Momtaz Begum; Baishakhi Traders owner Md Gaffar Elahi; and G-Tech owner Sultana Dil Afroza.
According to ACC's investigation report, the DSCC had fixed the rate of LED signboard allocation at Tk20,000 per square foot for advertisements on the corporation's own land or buildings, as well as on land or buildings belonging to government, semi-government, or autonomous institutions within its jurisdiction, with yearly approval or renewal.
However, the accused allegedly showed the rate at only Tk800 per square foot, thereby depriving the government of a large sum in revenue. An ACC probe revealed that this caused a loss of Tk25.13 crore in government revenue.
In addition, the ACC has issued asset declaration orders against DSCC Deputy Tax Officer Dewan Aleem Al Razi, former additional chief engineer Md Asaduzzaman, and Revenue Officer Md Nasir Uddin.
