City Bank donates foods items to 1lakh poor

The donation includes food bags, each weighing 18 kilograms, containing 10 kgs of rice and other food essentials

City Bank has provided food support to the poor who have come under major food safety related threat due to ongoing coronavirus situation.

The donation includes food bags, each weighing 18 kilograms, containing 10 kgs of rice and other food essentials to 20 thousand families through 8 centres across the country, according to a city bank press release.

Staffs of the bank donated their one day salary and the bank's Board approved a sizeable contribution from the company which was led by Bank's Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser with Managing Director, Mashrur Arefin's supervision.

The relief goods are now being distributed at Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Sylhet, Bogura, Noakhali, Tangail and Cumilla centers with the support of local administration and law enforcement agencies.

Besides, above, some 3000 families of 13 districts under Dhaka Range of Bangladesh police received the relief bags from City Bank through Uttaran Foundation, a social organization founded by Habibur Rahman, DIG of Dhaka Range. Moreover, 2000 middle class families living in the outskirts of Gulshan received the fund through Gulshan's Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, while Deputy Commissioner, Ramna led another initiative send to 500 families of tannery workers in Hazaribag area.

Bank Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser said, "Such humanitarian work will continue for the poor people facing this current crisis."
