Police to get higher allowances, new vehicles, interest-free loans
In a statement released on Facebook, the Chief Adviser said he gave the directive during a meeting today (19 March) with the Home Affairs Adviser and other officials

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has instructed the relevant authorities to take immediate action on several important issues that affect the well-being of police personnel including lifting the cap on risk allowances, procuring vehicles, and interest-free loans for field officials.
In a statement on the Facebook page Chief Adviser GOB, Prof Yunus said he gave the directive during a meeting with the home affairs adviser and other officials today.
Removing the current limit on risk allowances means police officers may receive higher or unrestricted compensation for the risks they face in their duties.
To improve police mobility, he ordered the procurement of 364 new pickups and 140 prisoner transport vans, strengthening law enforcement operations.
Other directives include releasing funds for unfinished police construction projects to accelerate their completion.
He also suggested providing interest-free loans for sub-inspectors (SI) and assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) to purchase motorcycles, enhancing their mobility in field operations.
Addressing infrastructure needs, the chief adviser allocated funds for acquiring land for 65 police stations currently in rented buildings.
Prof Yunus also stressed that district police units should be classified based on performance, with measures taken to enhance efficiency in underperforming districts.
The chief adviser has instructed the police force to start preparations to ensure a peaceful election.
