Bangladesh Bank joint director found dead at Ctg home
The body has been sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police have recovered the hanging body of Bangladesh Bank Joint Director Mohammad Chhayedur Rahman from his residence in the Eidgah area of Chattogram.
His body was found around 11:30pm on Wednesday night (2 September). The 55-year-old was posted in the port city and lived at that home with his family.
Halishahar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zainal Abedin Mondol said police initially suspected that Chhayedur had died by suicide sometime after evening. "Other family members were outside the home at the time."

Police recovered the body and sent it to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy after preparing an inquest report. No visible injury marks were found elsewhere on the body during the inquest, the OC added.
According to the OC, the incident appears to be suicide at first. However, the actual cause of death cannot be confirmed until we get the autopsy report. Police are also investigating whether Chhayedur had any disputes with anyone or whether there was any other reason behind his death.
No complaint has been filed with the police by his family so far.
OC Zainal said legal action would be taken if any complaint is received.
