Chattogram-1 MP Nurul Amin injured in road accident on Dhaka-Chattogram highway
Newly elected Member of Parliament from Chattogram-1 constituency, Nurul Amin, was injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway while returning to his constituency from Cumilla this afternoon (24 February).
The accident occurred around 3pm in the Mohammad Ali area of Feni district.
Confirming the matter, Mirsarai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Farida Yeasmin said, "He is now out of danger and receiving treatment at Imperial Hospital in Chattogram."
According to witnesses, the MP's vehicle lost control and crashed into the road divider while attempting to avoid a motorcycle that suddenly appeared in front of the car. The vehicle was damaged in the collision, leaving both the MP and his driver injured.
Later, locals rescued them immediately and took them to Comfort Hospital in Baraiyarhat. After receiving primary treatment there, he was referred to Imperial Hospital in Chattogram city for advanced medical care.
Dr Rezaul Karim of Comfort Hospital said, "The MP sustained injuries to his face, waist, head and back. He has been given primary treatment before referring to Chattogram," the doctor said.
Driver Monir Hossain said, "A motorcycle suddenly came in front of us in the Mohammad Ali area. While trying to save the rider, I lost control of the vehicle, and it hit the road divider. Both the MP and I were injured."
