CEC to record national address on election date on 10 Dec
The development comes a day after Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah told reporters at the EC office in Agargaon that the schedules for the 13th National Election and the national referendum will be announced within this week.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin is set to record a speech on 10 December, reportedly in connection with the announcement of the election schedule for the 13th national polls, according to EC sources.
Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told TBS that representatives from Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar will arrive on 10 December to record the CEC's statement. However, he said he could not confirm whether the recording is specifically intended as a national address regarding the election schedule.
A letter regarding this was issued today. The Election Commission is scheduled to meet the president on Wednesday (10 December).
Election Commissioner Abdur Rahman El Mashud said, 'The schedule will be announced through a speech on BTV and Bangladesh Betar. It could be on 10 December. There is no time left — the schedule must be declared by 11 December."
