Bus services halted across all routes from Bogura over alleged beating of worker leaders
Two motor worker leaders were allegedly beaten and injured in front of Mitali Pump on Bogura's Station Road area yesterday afternoon

Bus transportation from Bogura to the rest of the country has been suspended following allegations of assault on labour leaders.
No buses departed from Bogura's key locations, including Zero Point Satmatha, Charmatha Central Bus Stand, and the Dhaka Bus Stand in the city's Thanthania since this morning (19 March).
"We will hold a meeting at our office regarding this issue. After that, we will make our next decision. For now, no vehicles will operate from Bogura," said Azad, sports secretary of the Bogura District Motor Workers Union.
At around 5pm yesterday (18 March), two motor worker leaders were allegedly beaten and injured in front of Mitali Pump on Bogura's Station Road area.
The injured are Anwar Hasan Rana, joint general secretary of the Bogura Motor Workers Union, and Hazrat Ali, an executive member.
Both are currently receiving treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
According to locals, there are a few coconut vendors' shops in front of Mitali Pump. CNG-powered auto rickshaw drivers use the area in front of these shops as a stand to pick up and drop off passengers.
An argument broke out in the afternoon between the drivers and shop owners over parking CNGs in front of the shops. At one point, when the shop owners allegedly started beating them, the drivers called the worker leaders to the scene via mobile phone.
A fight erupted between both parties, resulting in the two worker leaders being injured, locals said.
