Technical assessment report will be made public after inspection
Dhaka University has announced inspections of several old and vulnerable residential halls and buildings on its campus by a team of experts from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) to assess structural safety following the recent earthquakes.
The university administration made the decision at an emergency meeting today (22 November), held at the conference room adjacent to the Vice Chancellor's Office, according to a press release issued by the university's Public Relations Office.
The release stated that the inspection will begin tomorrow morning with Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall. Other halls will be inspected in phases. The inspection team will include the hall provost, residential teachers, and representatives from Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) and hall unions.
After the inspection, the technical assessment report will be made public. If any structural risks are identified, students will be relocated.

Renovation of 175 rooms at Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall, which is already underway, will continue and be completed as quickly as possible.
