BSF returns 3 boats seized from Bangladeshi fishermen

Following protests by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), India's Border Security Force (BSF) has returned three fishing boats allegedly seized from Bangladeshi fishermen.
The handover took place during a flag meeting held at the zero point of the Kalindi River along the Satkhira border today (20 April).
Prior to this, two camp-level flag meetings were held on Friday and Saturday between BGB's Kaikhali Camp and BSF's Shamshernagar Camp.
Subedar Abu Bakkar, commander of BGB's Kaikhali camp, confirmed that the BSF returned the boats as well as fishing nets, ropes, supplies, and cash taken during the seizure.
On 15 April, BSF personnel allegedly entered Bangladeshi territory by speedboat and forcefully confiscated the three fishing boats from local fishermen in the Bayarsingh area of the Sundarbans.
