Bodies of 3 killed in Gopalganj exhumed on court orders, sent to hospital morgue

The bodies of three of the five people killed in the clash over the NCP rally in Gopalganj have been exhumed from their graves on court orders.
Later, they were sent to the Gopalganj General Hospital morgue.
The plaintiffs of the case applied to the court to exhume the bodies for the post-mortem report and autopsy of the deceased.
Later, the court in the presence of a magistrate ordered the exhumation of the bodies of the deceased Ramzan Kazi, Emon Talukder and Sohel Rana from their graves and ordered for the post-mortem report and autopsy.
Following the court order, at around 1pm today, the bodies of Ramzan Kazi and Emon Talukder were exhumed from the Gopalganj municipal graveyard in the presence of Magistrate Russell Munshi and Ronti Poddar, and Sohel Rana Molya from the family graveyard in the presence of Magistrate Maruf Dastgir in Tungipara and sent to the Gopalganj General Hospital morgue.
The family members of the deceased were present when the bodies were exhumed.
Meanwhile, the district BNP held a press conference demanding that innocent people not be harassed in any case, including the murder cases filed in Gopalganj.
Of the other two deceased, Deepta Saha's body was cremated according to Hindu religious rites at the municipal crematorium, and Ramzan Munshi's autopsy was conducted at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
On 16 July, at least five people were killed and several others injured in clashes between police and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies over a rally of the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Gopalganj.
