Bangladesh win nail-biter to clinch series win
Bangladesh’s bowlers displayed excellent discipline and variations to choke the Pakistani batters.

Bangladesh emerged victorious in a thrilling low-scoring T20 encounter against Pakistan, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance that defended a modest total. Batting first, Bangladesh struggled to build partnerships and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Mohammad Naim was the first to depart, falling for just 5 runs in the second over with the team score at 5-1. Litton Das tried to settle in but was dismissed after scoring 20, leaving Bangladesh at 25-2 in the fifth over. A sudden collapse saw Towhid Hridoy and Parvez Hossain Emon dismissed in quick succession, reducing the team to 28-4 within six overs.
Mahedi Hasan provided some resistance in the middle order, scoring 23 off 20 deliveries with two fours, before he too fell in the 14th over with the team at 81-5. Shamim Hossain and Tanzim Hasan Sakib added a few runs, but their dismissals in the 16th over meant Bangladesh were struggling at 100-7. Rishad Hossain scored 11 off 7 balls and Shoriful Islam chipped in with 16 off 8 deliveries to push the total past 120. Jaker Ali was the last man dismissed on the final ball of the innings, as Bangladesh were bowled out for 133 runs in 19.6 overs.
For Pakistan, Salman Mirza and Abbas Afridi picked up two wickets each. Salman Mirza was particularly economical, conceding only 17 runs in his four overs with an impressive economy of 4.20. Abbas Afridi, although expensive at 9.20 runs per over, took two key wickets. Faheem Ashraf bowled three overs for 20 runs and a wicket, while Ahmed Daniyal and Mohammad Nawaz also chipped in with a wicket each. Khushdil Shah, despite conceding 12 runs in his only over, remained wicketless along with Saim Ayub, who bowled one tidy over for just 3 runs.
In response, Pakistan's innings began disastrously. Saim Ayub was the first to go, scoring just 1 run before being run out by the Litton Das-Rishad Hossain combination in the first over. Mohammad Haris fell for a golden duck lbw to Shoriful Islam in the second over, followed by Fakhar Zaman who managed only 8 runs before being caught by Litton Das off Shoriful's bowling. The collapse continued as Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz were dismissed for ducks by Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the fifth over, leaving Pakistan reeling at 15-5.
Captain Salman Agha tried to rebuild the innings with a cautious 9 runs off 23 balls before being dismissed by Mahedi Hasan in the tenth over. Khushdil Shah scored 13 off 18 deliveries but fell lbw to Mahedi in the twelfth over, and Pakistan were soon 47-7. Abbas Afridi (19 off 13) and Ahmed Daniyal (17 off 11) added some quick runs towards the end, while Faheem Ashraf played a valiant knock of 51 runs off just 32 balls, hitting four boundaries and four sixes at an impressive strike rate of 159.38 to keep Pakistan's hopes alive. However, the lack of support from the top order meant that Pakistan fell short. They were bowled out for 125 runs in 19.2 overs, losing the match by 8 runs.
Bangladesh's bowlers displayed excellent discipline and variations to choke the Pakistani batters. Shoriful Islam was outstanding with figures of 4-0-17-3, maintaining an economy rate of just 4.20. Mahedi Hasan also bowled economically, taking two wickets for 25 runs in his four overs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib picked up two crucial wickets while conceding 23 runs, while Mustafizur Rahman took one wicket giving away only 15 runs in 3.2 overs. Rishad Hossain, despite being expensive with an economy rate of 10.50, managed to claim a wicket.
Ultimately, it was Bangladesh's bowling attack that secured the win after a below-par batting performance. Pakistan, despite Faheem Ashraf's lone resistance, failed to chase down 134 runs and suffered a batting collapsed that handed Bangladesh a memorable victory in this tightly fought T20 contest.
