Imran Khan, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) of Sirajdikhan Circle, said, "Although the police went to the scene, it took time to recover the body due to resistance from the angry mob. The agitated locals themselves vandalised the suspect's house.

"The situation was brought under control after the army arrived at the scene. The body was recovered at around 1pm," he added.

On 21 January, Roman went out with an auto-rickshaw from Thoirgaon area in Kola union and went missing. His family filed a case on 25 January, accusing three people. Although the police arrested the three accused and sent them to court, Roman's whereabouts remained unknown.
