Munshiganj schoolboy missing for 23 days; locals vandalise Sirajdikhan police station

Local people have vanalised Sirajdikhan police station alleging police inaction to trace a schoolboy who has been missing for nearly 23 days.
Sirajdikhan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahina Akter said Roman Sheikh, a class IX student of Thoirgaon village went missing on 21 January.
Expressing anger over police inaction, local people including students formed a human chain in Sirajdikhan Upazila intersection around 11am today (12 February).
At one stage, local people stormed into Sirajdikhan police station after 12pm and vandalised the station.
They also vandalised at least five vehicles parked in front of the police station.
On information, police and army personnel rushed to the scene.
When asked about this, Assistant Superintendent of Sirajdikhan Circle Police Imran Khan said, "The attack was carried out suddenly after the human chain was formed. Several cars and furniture were vandalised during this time. The protestors gave a 3-day ultimatum [for finding the boy]."
