The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) has awarded mobile financial services provider bKash, Square Pharma, Walton, and Fabric Lagbe the "Excellence in Investment Award-2025" for their contribution to the country's economy by attracting foreign direct investment.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus handed over the awards at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 in the capital today (9 April). 

Bida Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun and Chief Adviser's Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi were also present on the occasion.

bKash founder and CEO Kamal Quadir received the award on behalf of his company.

Bida presented the award in recognition of bKash's continuous efforts in sustainable growth, employment generation, innovation and financial inclusion.

bKash, a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US-based Money in Motion LLC, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, China's Alibaba Group's Ant International, and Japan's SoftBank Vision Fund, has been operating as a payment service provider, offering a broad range of digital financial services under the regulation of Bangladesh Bank since 2011.
