Biman staff held with 4.2 kg gold at Chattogram airport
Custom officials today detained a sweeper of Biman Bangladesh Airlines with 36 gold bars from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.
The detainee - Mohammad Elias- arrived at the airport from Dubai on a Fly Dubai flight around 11am.
"On suspicion, we searched him and found the gold bars inside his shoes," said Md Readul Islam, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Customs House.

The gold bars weighing around 5.4 kilograms worth about Tk2 crore, he added.
