Flight disruptions persist at Ctg airport as Middle East tensions escalate; 186 flights cancelled so far
A total of seven international flights were cancelled throughout the day.
Flight operations at Shah Amanat International Airport remained disrupted yesterday (25 March) as escalating conflict in the Middle East continued to affect air connectivity, according to the latest press bulletin.
A total of seven international flights were cancelled throughout the day.
Among them, Biman Bangladesh Airlines cancelled two inbound and two outbound flights from and to Middle Eastern destinations. US-Bangla Airlines suspended one outbound flight, while Air Arabia cancelled one arrival and one departure flight.
Despite the disruptions, some operations continued. Eight inbound passenger flights from the Middle East and four outbound flights operated during the day under various airlines.
Authorities said the suspension of flights by SalamAir, Air Arabia and US-Bangla Airlines on routes connecting Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi with Chattogram remains unchanged.
The airport has been experiencing persistent disruptions since 28 February amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. With Wednesday's cancellations, the total number of scrapped international flights has reached 186.
Passengers, particularly migrant workers travelling to and from the Middle East, continue to bear the brunt of the disruptions, with uncertainty over schedules and limited flight availability.
