The interim government has renamed the "Bangabandhu Satellite-1", the country's first satellite to be launched into space, to "Bangladesh Satellite-1" (BS-1).
The decision came into effect on 23 February following the approval of a proposal in this regard from Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus recently, reads a notification issued by the Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
The ministry asked authorities concerned to take further necessary action in this regard.
