Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) Professor Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed attended the event as chief guest.

Deputy-Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Md Jashimuddin Khan, the current committee and alumni of Badhan were also present in the meeting along with other members of the organisation.

Besides the huge number of donations facilitated by the organisation in 2019, it also helped some 1,99,974 people determine their blood groups.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisation provided relief goods to needy people in 36 districts of the country. It also became the first voluntary organisation in the country to collect plasma from people who have recovered from Covid-19 and distribute it to patients all over the country.

Established in 1997 in the University of Dhaka, Badhan now has 136 units at 75 educational institutions in 53 districts of the country, which have been divided in 12 zones.

It has collected and distributed around 10 lakh blood bags and has more than 20 thousand volunteers working under it to donate blood to people in need.
