7 held over attack on AKS steel factory in Ctg

Police have arrested seven individuals in connection with an attack on the Abul Khair Steel Melting Limited (AKSML) factory in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram.
The arrests were made during overnight drives yesterday (28 February) in different areas of Sonachhari union.
Confirming the matter, Sitakunda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohinul Islam told The Business Standard that efforts are underway to apprehend the other suspects.
The detainees were identified as Md Jamal, 38; Ramzan Ali, 28; Md Rony, 20; Md Eshaq, 48; Arshadur Rahman, 20; Md Alauddin, 48; and Md Khokon, 30.
According to police, around 1am on 26 February, a group of 25 to 30 armed robbers entered the AKS Steel factory in the Shitalpur area under Sonachhari union.
The group allegedly attempted to loot the facility and assaulted five security guards on duty, and left them injured.
The assailants also allegedly vandalised the security booth at the gate and a pickup vehicle before fleeing the scene with Tk20,000 in cash.
Md Alauddin, the factory's shift-in-charge, filed a case naming 10 individuals and accusing 30 people in total on the following day.
